What's the difference between Alpha1 and Docomo or KDDI?

KDDI and NTT Docomo are huge companies with high rates. Sometimes their rates are low, but you have to register for special plans, call at certain hours, and generally jump through a lot of hoops. With Alpha1 you can call anytime at the same cheap phone rates, and all you have to do is register your phone number once.

Can I use Alpha1 for calls within Japan, even on my mobile?

Yes. You can make cheap calls in Japan to other mobile phones, PHS, and land lines (normal telephones). The best thing is when you call using Alpha1 you only pay our discount telephone rates, and not NTT, KDDI, Softbank, etc.

How does it sound?

It's excellent. Our fiber-optic telephone lines offer the best sound quality. Have you ever used internet phone service? Then you know about the dropouts, the echo, and the strange noises that IP systems can have. Alpha1's service is crystal clear.

Will I get charged by both Alpha1 and my mobile company?

No, you only pay Alpha1's cheap mobile rates. It's as if you never used your mobile because the call goes through our system instead of your usual mobile service provider. If you use Alpha1 all the time you can pay a lot less to your mobile company.
